Like carnauba wax, candelilla wax is recognized for its high hardness and wear resistance, but unlike carnauba, due to its high hydrocarbon and resin content, candelilla wax stands out for its excellent water-repellent properties, creating a moisture barrier. It also stands out for its good flexibility and adhesive properties. It can be applied pure or added as an enhancer for cosmetic use, leather and hide finishing, furniture and wood finishes, varnishes, etc.  <\/p>\n<p>Soluble in oils, resins, alcohol, acetone, turpentine, aromatic solvents and many other organic solvents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ardec.ca\/en\/forums\/1742\/candelila-wax-carnauba-wax-and-beeswax-recipe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-link-type=\"external\" data-type=\"linkpicker\">A recipe based on candelilla, carnauba, and beeswax.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.woodfinishsupply.com\/CandelillaWax.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-link-type=\"external\" data-type=\"linkpicker\">George Frank&#8217;s recipe for water-emulsified wax:<\/a><\/p>\n<div>Melt in a double boiler:<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>(Suggest a hotplate outdoors to avoid fire danger!)<\/div>\n<div>4 ounces of Candelilla wax flake,<\/div>\n<div>4 ounces of Carnauba wax flake,<\/div>\n<div>and 61\/2 ounces of Stearic Acid.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In a separate glass, earthenware,<\/div>\n<div>or enameled container add:<\/div>\n<div>1 ounce (liquid) of Triethanolamine (for emilsufication)<\/div>\n<div>to 31\/2 quarts of boiling water*.<\/div>\n<div>(*If your water is high in minerals, use distilled water or rain water)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Now; pour the melted wax mixture into the water; begin stirring with a<\/div>\n<div>wooden paddle as soon as you finish pouring.
